Why organise a toy drive?

The multinational law firm Pinsent Masons is deeply committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), a core pillar of their values. The Luxembourg team strongly believes in the social responsibility of every business and is acutely aware of the daily challenges faced by many youngsters in the country. Recent findings reveal that a staggering of 29.4% of children under 18 are at risk of poverty in Luxembourg (Eurostat data for 2021). In alignment with their CSR philosophy and as part of their comprehensive “Inspiring Young Lives” global program, Pinsent Masons Luxembourg has taken the initiative to organise this toy collection. By fostering an environment of generosity and community involvement, the aim of this action if to create a significant positive impact on the lives of these young individuals, further reinforcing Pinsent Masons’ commitment to a better future for all.

How can you get involved in the collection?

Residents and border residents can drop off their donations at 6 public collection points (see list below) around Luxembourg from 14 to 30 November. Luxembourg companies are not left out, as about 23 of them organise an internal toy collection that staff and clients can contribute to.

Where can you drop off my donations?

5 public drop off points are at your disposal across the country:

Pinsent Masons Luxembourg, 69 boulevard de la Pétrusse, Luxembourg

CFL, Luxembourg Train Station (luggage storage, platform 3)

Kaempff-Kohler, 49 rue Gabriel Lippmann, Niederanven

Kaempff-Kohler, 18 Place Guillaume II, Luxembourg

Kaempff-Kohler, 55 Av. John F. Kennedy, Luxembourg

Pall Center, 2 Arelerstrooss, Oberpallen

What can you donate?

You are welcomed to drop-off toys such as toys, books, puzzles, board games, indoor and outdoor items, electronic items like consoles, video games, sports equipment, school supplies, bicycles, scooters... in perfect working condition (new or second-hand). Unfortunately, for hygiene reasons, the “Supporting Young Lives” toy drive can’t accept soft toys, clothing, and shoes.

Where are your donations going?

“Supporting Young Lives” currently assists 9 organisations working to support youngsters within Luxembourg and the Greater Region. Several of them are household names, but the toy drive also benefits to smaller and less well-known charities. The charity event offers all these groups their share of the limelight, as well as drawing attention to the wonderful work they achieve on a daily basis. At the end of the toy drive, volunteers will sort the toys based on the needs expressed by the charities. In 2022, 40m3 of donations were collected. Delivery is planned for the beginning of December.

Beneficiary associations for 2023 are: Een Häerz fir kriibskrank Kanner, Elisabeth Kanner, Fondation Kannerschlass, Foyer Sud "Fraen an Nout", Maison Croix-Rouge Arlon, Stëmm vun der Strooss, TABA, Trauerwee, Tricentenaire...

Participating entities for 2023 are: Pinsent Masons Luxembourg, AKT One, Cardif Lux Vie, Centralis, CFL, Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, CHAMP Cargosystems, Crèche Marco Polo – Lëtz Explore, DO Recruitment Advisors, Editus, Genista, Incert, Kaempff-Kohler, La Mondiale Europartner, Michel Greco, Ocorian, Pall Center, Proximus, Rcarré, SGI Groupe, Swissquote Bank Europe, TMF Group, UBS…

Every contribution is appreciated, whether it is a donation, the organisation of a collection in your premises, or the spreading of information.  As we approach the end of the year, let's ensure that youngsters everywhere in Luxembourg and the Greater Region can forget about their worries a bit. Let's always emphasize solidarity.
