At the time, four start-ups took up residence there:  

• WeThink, which offers a variety of products and services aiming to reduce one’s environmental footprint,  
• Techno Green, a business that identifies environmentally friendly solutions abroad with the aim of launching them in Luxembourg,
• Lux-EM, a firm selling ecological, non-toxic maintenance and cleaning products to communities and businesses, and
• GreenBeHave, a company that provides support to anyone looking to upgrade the energy efficiency of buildings. 

Designed in close collaboration with Luxinnovation and Technoport, the Innovation Hub’s mission is simple, targeted and more relevant than ever before.  
 
First, it intends to promote new eco-technology projects by attracting entrepreneurs with innovative ideas.  How? By providing services and incentives such as training, advice, and contacts with experts in the fields of the green and environmental transition.  
 
Second, it aims to contribute to reducing the ecological footprint of both Dudelange and Luxembourg.

The Innovation Hub Dudelange constitutes an additional pillar for the city of Dudelange, in addition to industry, logistics and health. In economic terms, it creates jobs and promote economic diversification.  
 
WHY GREEN TECH?  
 
Our reasoning is simple and clear.  Today, people in Luxembourg and elsewhere are becoming increasingly concerned about environmental issues. We aim to help find solutions to deal with the current climate crisis and preserve our environment.  
 
In close collaboration with Dudelange, a town deeply committed to protecting the environment, Luxinnovation et Technoport support young companies on their path towards a green transition, as well as those wishing to implement innovative ideas to safeguard our planet. Dudelange is already deploying tools developed by these start-ups on its own territory, such as solutions to improve the management of its street lighting, maintain its green spaces, preserve its parks and nature reserves, in addition to using rubbish bags made of recycled materials.  
 
The city of Dudelange is convinced that “giving start-ups the opportunity to ‘test’ their solutions in Dudelange will pave the way to improved products that can then be manufactured on a larger scale at a later stage”. 
 
THE INNOVATION HUB’S START-UPS: 
 
Many start-ups have joined the Innovation Hub. Currently, its residents are:  

• Lux-EM and WeThink, as mentioned above,
• Frontière Connect, a start-up offering solutions to optimise production, resources and waste,
• Wasch, which manufactures environmentally friendly laundry detergents for individuals and communities,
• Lawstar, a company providing solutions to prevent energy waste,
• Demain autrement, a coaching service to promote the green transition,
• Novalair, a firm selling ecological cleaning solutions for air and water ducts,
• Kidola, a business that proposes solutions allowing day-care centres to go paperless,
• RSS-HYDRO, which has launched mapping solutions revealing the environmental impact of global warming, and
• Wasdi, a platform that exploits Earth observation data.   

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR THE INNOVATION HUB? 

The Innovation Hub will act as a pioneering incubator as it awaits the creation of the NeiSchmelz district. In the Mayor of the City of Dudelange Dan Biancalana’s words: “These start-ups all focus on eco-technologies and will act as trailblazers for the future NeiSchmelz district, a carbon-neutral, ecological neighbourhood. The plan is for the Innovation Hub to play a pivotal role in the development of the area, with the aim of attracting other companies there!”
