Corona Pandemic: PM-International Donates 1 Million Euros to Relief Efforts
PM-International AG has committed to donate 1 million Euros to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.
The money donations and donations in kind within the framework of the “PM helps” initiative went to relief efforts in severely affected regions surrounding the company’s International Headquarters in Schengen, including Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.
Support for the Greater Region In Luxembourg, PM-International has donated 1,000 liters of disinfectant to the logistics unit of the Ministry of Health.
Furthermore, PM-International supports the Saarland state government in the procurement of protective gear and the establishment of supply centers in the districts. The Prime Minister of Saarland, Tobias Hans: "On behalf of the Saarland state government, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Sorg family from Luxembourg for their generous donation to help us cope with this exceptional situation. Such great support across state borders cannot be taken for granted".
In France, PM-International has donated 55 infusion pumps to the Nancy Regional and University Hospital Center (CHRU). They help to create further capacities at the intensive care unit of the hospital. A second donation was used for the catering of the hospital staff.
Spain: Collaboration with World Vision and Doctors of the World Spain is among the countries most affected by the current situation. Here, PM-International has supported the COVID-19 emergency response of Doctors of the World Spain in collaboration with World Vision with a donation for the installation and operation of two field hospitals in Madrid.
Vicki Sorg, Charity Ambassador of PM-International: "In the current situation, solidarity is key. All over the world, people are doing extraordinary things to help others and to maintain essential health services. With our donation, we want to support them".
Energy bars for health care workers and people in need In addition, the company has donated around 20,000 energy bars from its own product line. Among others, they were delivered to health care workers and helpers in France as well as local food & assistance centers in Spain. For Vicki Sorg, this was an opportunity to give immediate support: "I am pleased that most of our donations have already arrived at their destination. We have also released our entire stock of energy bars".
With its charity program PM We Care, PM-International engages in charity projects for almost 20 years. As the largest corporate sponsor of the relief, development, and advocacy organization World Vision, PM-International supports 2,300 sponsored children, their families and entire communities in more than 60 regional development projects around the world, including India, Peru, and Cambodia.
