APATEQ, with headquarters in Luxembourg, engineers and manufactures high-efficiency water and wastewater treatment systems based on unique and innovative process technologies. The company was visited by His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg. Accompanied by Étienne Schneider, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Economy of Luxembourg and by S.N.C.I. President Patrick Nickels, Grand Duke Henri met APATEQ’s founders and investors, as well as members of the company’s staff.

During a presentation held by APATEQ CEO and co-founder Bogdan Serban, the visitors were informed about the company’s development since inception in 2013 from start-up phase to an international player in the clean-tech water sector. They had the opportunity to learn how APATEQ grew quickly with proprietary cutting edge technology implemented in its systems, surpassing competitor offerings from global market players. Within the past months, APATEQ received several international orders where those market leaders were beaten. During the discussion, the participants of the visit exchanged their views and experiences about the emerging clean-tech sector, general challenges of start-up companies as well as Luxembourg as a business location for young tech companies. Mr. Serban emphasized the major role played by APATEQ Angel Investor and Chairman of the Board, Robert Dennewald, in APATEQ’s success story. Other APATEQ shareholders present during the visit were Immobilière Pirrotte CEO Pitt Pirrotte, Contern S.A. CFO Jan Knoblauch, APATEQ Chief Technology Officer and co-founder, Ulrich Bäuerle and APATEQ Chief Sales Officer and co-founder, Dirk Martin.

The visit continued in the production hall, where H.R.H. Grand Duke Henri and the other visitors were introduced to APATEQ’s water treatment technology by walking through the latest bulk order from a Swedish customer which is fulfilled in Luxembourg: an on-board system for the treatment of water resulting from marine exhaust gas cleaning. The group was shown APATEQ’s product competitive advantages in terms of performance and operability, how it complies with international regulations for direct discharge into the sea set by the IMO (International Maritime Organization) and how it can be easily operated by a system-integrated touch panel or remote controlled.

The Grand Duke and Deputy Prime Minister Schneider had the opportunity to meet all key employees of APATEQ during a closing reception of the visit.
