In a highly regulated market, Luxembourgish companies, such as Labgroup, are facing cumulative challenges with respect to compliance and audit.

An answer to these challenges is an Integrated Management System (IMS) which is used as a central and unique repository for all reference documents required for implementation, audit and certification with regulations, standards or best practices.

Labgroup broke new ground with the invaluable assistance of LIST, by developing a comprehensive IMS, that has proven its value on the occasion of the certifying audit for the ISO 27001 standard in 2014. Furthermore, the company succeeded in renewing both ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certifications, as a result of a single audit process.

In November 2016 Labgroup’s IMS will be further challenged during the course of the first ever certifying PSDC audit (The new certification scheme on Dematerialisation and Conservation Services, based on the Luxemburgish law on electronic archiving of 25 July 2015) Upon successful completion of this audit Labgroup will be the first PSDC, and certified for both “dematerialisation” and “conservation”.

“Operating in a highly regulated market is very demanding and it is key to success for enterprises to switch their perspective on these regulations from a hindrance to an opportunity for improvement.”, Bernard Moreau, CEO, Labgroup.

De facto, Labgroup’s main cornerstones for an effective certification strategy are:

  • Regulations are treated as an opportunity for improvement
  • Management and employees are involved in the project from a to z
  • The collaboration with outside experts is intended as a development accelerator.
  • The experts called by Labgroup to achieve then leverage the IMS are:
    • LIST, which designed a process map and developed innovative tools to take into account the specificities of each regulation/standard/best practice.
    • PECB Europe certification body which is capable of auditing and certifying integrated management systems, not only ISO standards but also compliance with standards, such as PSDC.

“In a market that is increasingly moving towards deploying and operating integrated management systems, it no longer makes sense to audit and certify each norm individually. PECB Europe, the first Luxembourg certification body, is able to provide an answer to all of the compliance requirements in one single audit.”, Bernard Moreau CEO, Labgroup.

“It is important to provide innovative tools to better integrate regulation, with the target of being able in the future to integrate the regulators and the regulation, making compliance more easily accessible and efficient for the whole ecosystem in Luxembourg, as well as contributing to the Luxembourg trusted data hub.”, Sébastien Pineau, Lead Partnership Officer, LIST.

“We at PECB are proud to be able to respond to the complexity and challenges of management systems. The key factor for a certification body is to understand how to accompany the certification and auditing process whilst leveraging what is really important for enterprises.”, Pierre Dewez, CEO, PECB Europe.
