Paul Wurth InCub – Season 1 challenge
The Call for Applications is open
Paul Wurth today launches its support programme for innovative and technology-driven companies with its first call for applications to the Paul Wurth InCub challenge.
For Paul Wurth, this unprecedented initiative, developed in cooperation with the Luxembourg business incubator Technoport, consists in hosting within Paul Wurth InCub, young companies searching for support in the development and implementation of their entrepreneurial projects. These start-ups can not only benefit from physical space and infrastructure on the premises of Paul Wurth in Luxembourg-Hollerich, but also from their proximity to an experienced player with a long-standing tradition of innovation in order to receive technological support, commercial advice, market feedback or facilitated market access through the international network of the Paul Wurth Group.
Entrepreneurs are asked to focus applications on one of the five innovation segments: environmental technologies in the metals industry, energy-related technologies and business models, industry 4.0, advanced logistics & sustainable mobility and smart & healthy buildings. Entrepreneurs can find out more information about Paul Wurth InCub and apply online on http://incub.co until 13 May.
Following two rounds of evaluation, 15 candidates will be invited to present their project pitch in front of an experienced jury. Finally, the most promising projects selected to join Season 1 of the Paul Wurth Incub Challenge will be announced in June 2016.
The Paul Wurth InCub project is moderated by Technoport. Paul Wurth is partnering on the programme with the Luxembourg law firm Elvinger Hoss Prussen, the accountant and consulting firm Muller & Associés and the patent and trademark attorneys Office Freylinger.
According to Georges Rassel, CEO of Paul Wurth: “We are very excited to start this inaugural incubation programme. It is a chance for Paul Wurth to identify, support and team up with emerging start-up companies and to mentor innovative technological ideas”. “This exchange among aspiring and experienced innovators will be a win-win situation. It will make us share our innovation expertise gained over decades and it will create the opportunity for Paul Wurth to promote creativity and openness in-house as well,” added Sébastien Wiertz, General Manager of Paul Wurth InCub.
