Aperam publishes its made for life report for 2013
Aperam, a leading global producer of stainless and specialty steel, today publishes its made for life report, which constitutes Aperam's sustainability performance report for 2013
The people in this industry are proud to be part of an important transformation process. Our products are resilient, endlessly recycled and made for life - which is how we express the Aperam way of working
Philippe Darmayan, CEO of Aperam
Built on stakeholder inclusiveness and materiality, Aperam's report follows the Global Reporting Initiative's recently launched G4 framework. It has been assured by an external audit firm as compliant with this protocol, including the reporting of material environmental performance data such as energy intensity, water withdrawal by source, CO2 intensity and air emissions.
This year's report shows how Aperam strives to go beyond compliance in its environmental performance, presenting issues and solutions such as water conservation initiatives and the use of charcoal from our eucalyptus forest business. Additionally, Aperam's material indicators on Safety and People are disclosed by region and segment, offering insight into the Company's economical, social and environmental performance locally and globally.
"The people in this industry are proud to be part of an important transformation process. Our products are resilient, endlessly recycled and made for life - which is how we express the Aperam way of working ", Philippe Darmayan, CEO of Aperam, commented.
Aperam's complete report is available on www.aperam.com/sustainability. It is composed of the made for life report (summary) and online supplements: United Nations Global Compact references; the materiality process at Aperam including stakeholder engagement; our Disclosures on Mananagement Approach on material aspects; Corporate Governance and Assurance report.
