BGL BNP Paribas supports "Association Luxembourg Alzheimer"
Presentation of two cheques totalling 10,000 euros.
BGL BNP Paribas presented two cheques to the “Association Luxembourg Alzheimer” (ALA) in a ceremony at corporate headquarters on 31 January 2013. The donation followed a joint decision by two of the bank’s departments, Business Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking (Treasury), to support ALA by replacing traditional end-of-year gifts with a joint donation. Representatives from both departments presented two cheques totalling 10,000 euros to ALA officials.
ALA is a non-profit organisation with 25 years’ experience that helps people suffering from pathological dementia. It draws on its extensive knowledge to provide an overall package of care and support for patients. Six daycare centres (Esch/Alzette, Rumelange, Dudelange, Bonnevoie, Dommeldange and Dahl) and, since July 2007, the “Beim Goldknapp” care home in Erpeldange/Ettelbruck offer physical and mental assistance to persons suffering from dementia, especially Alzheimer’s disease. In 2010 there were an estimated 35.6 million people with dementia worldwide.
This initiative is yet another illustration of BGL BNP Paribas’ commitment to corporate social responsibility and its determination to play an active part in Luxembourg society.
