3rd UBS MoonWalker: A hike from sunset to sunrise
The Minett, also known as the land of red rocks, was once a flagship of Luxembourg’s industry and one of the cradles of the European steel industry. On July 1, it served as the trail for the 3rd UBS Moonwalker.
Esch/Alzette was last weekend the place to be for hiking enthusiasts. 10 and 20 km were ideal for families with children and experienced hikers, whereas the 30 km route was for those that took the challenge and finished at dawn.
The highlight of the evening, was undoubtedly the magical moon which hikers got to witness, along with the views of the previously undiscovered hiking region of Minett. Also known as the land of red rocks, the area has been marked by its industrial culture and has been now a landmark for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Beverages and snacks, as well as surprises were waiting for the participants en route. All three route lengths (10, 20 and 30 km) had to offer a unique experience, accommodating everyone’s preferences.
UBS in Luxembourg aims to keep up with the various sustainability-related initiatives, supporting the local community in Luxembourg in order to keep sustainability where it belongs: at the heart of everything we do.
