Mastercard and Advanzia: Working together for a world without hunger
Advanzia Bank is proud to support the Mastercard - World Food Programme partnership to provide school meals to children in developing countries and to donate 1 million school meals.
Today, Advanzia Bank and Mastercard have announced the start of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign in support of the World Food Programme (WFP). By paying contactless with an Advanzia Mastercard card, donations of school meals will be made to the World Food Programme, with the intention of donating one million meals by the end of the campaign.
Advanzia’s 1.4 million cardholders will have the chance to make a positive change to the world every time they use their cards. These transactions can be made with the Gebührenfrei Mastercard GOLD in Germany and Luxembourg, the Carte ZERO Gold Mastercard in France, the free Mastercard Gold in Austria, the Tarjeta YOU Mastercard Gold in Spain, as well as all co-branded and white label cards issued by Advanzia Bank for business partners and financial institutions across the world.
“Since 2012, Mastercard and the WFP have collaborated to build a world without hunger and reverse the cycle of poverty in 22 countries”, says Peter Bakenecker, Divisional President Mastercard Germany & Switzerland. “Making giving part of everyday life, Mastercard leverages the cumulative volume of transactions in our network and engages key partners such as Advanzia Bank. Together with our cardholders, we support a worthy cause and help fight world hunger.”
Johannes Neander, Advanzia’s Chief Commercial Officer, comments: “Advanzia is delighted to launch a cause-related marketing campaign together with Mastercard in support of WFP that enables our cardholders to make a difference with something as simple as making contactless payments.”
