DLA Piper in Luxembourg announces two key appointments
DLA Piper in Luxembourg is pleased to announce the appointments of Laurent Massinon as partner to its Banking, Finance and Regulatory team, part of the Finance & Projects practice. He will be joined by associate Christina Nickel
Laurent was admitted to the Luxembourg bar in 2005. After working in a magic circle law firm for more than seven years, from 2012 he headed the Banking, Finance & Capital Markets department of an international law firm in Luxembourg.
Laurent advises banks, professionals of the financial sector, (re-)insurance companies, listed and nonlisted companies and securitisation undertakings on regulatory issues such as banking, finance, capital markets and (re-)insurance matters. Laurent's areas of practice include cross-border banking and capital markets transactions (including issues of debt and equity securities such as high-yield bonds issues and IPOs, (de-)listings, takeovers, exchange offers and buy backs), structured finance, acquisition finance, restructuring and insolvency as well as (re-)insurance transactions.
These appointments further support the growing Finance & Projects practice in Luxembourg, which services the needs of international clients on all aspects of financing across a broad range of sectors. The team has experience in advising on a number of finance transactions, including acquisition finance, asset finance, real estate finance, debt capital markets, alternative finance and financial regulations. It has recently acted in many multi-jurisdictional ground-breaking deals involving finance and restructuring work.
Catherine Pogorzelski, Country Managing Partner for DLA Piper in Luxembourg, said: "We are delighted to welcome these two highly experienced practitioners into our Finance & Projects team. Laurent's skills and experience will complement our existing Finance & Projects team led by Xavier Guzman, and enable us to continue on the path of development and growth of our Luxembourg office."
Martin Bartlam, International Head of Finance & Projects at DLA Piper, said: "Finance centres such as Luxembourg are increasingly important in meeting client's needs for dealing with sophisticated financing and investment transactions tailored to their specific requirements. We are therefore extremely pleased to welcome Laurent as a new partner to our international Finance practice enabling us to further build our capability in Luxembourg and strengthen a first-class offering to our clients."
