BIL Exhibition: Luxembourg! by Jacques Schneider
Banque Internationale à Luxembourg’s Galerie L’Indépendance will be hosting Jacques Schneider’s “Luxembourg!” exhibition from 29 September 2015 to 15 January 2016. In honour of HRH the Grand Duke Henri’s sixty years, no fewer than sixty works have been specially produced for this exhibition.
As a photographer, graphic artist and painter, Schneider captures the beauty of Luxembourg’s heritage, transforming it with subtle and measured energy. His vigorous brushstrokes, which highlight both the subject’s shape and its most distinctive contours, see him turn each photographic image into a personal work of art.
Instead of taking a traditional approach to capturing the country’s beauty, Schneider gives it a new, innovative and modern identify. His expressive use of colour brings the shots to life with a surprisingly fresh perspective. In his work, Schneider pays homage to Luxembourg’s rich architecture, history and heritage with a passionate dedication to the Grand Duke, the head of state, and the expression of his identity.
Schneider brings us his personal vision of a country that has fundamentally changed over the past few decades without ever losing its identity. His modern interpretation combines respect for the past and receptiveness to an ever-changing world.
BIL is delighted to host an artist who is not only talented but also shares its vision for innovation and its commitment to the Grand Duchy. This latest event goes hand in hand with BIL’s ongoing commitment to promoting local and international art and artists.
Jacques Schneider’s Luxembourg! exhibition is at BIL’s Galerie L’Indépendance, 69 route d’Esch, Luxembourg between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, from 29 September 2015 to 15 January 2016.
