I was the odd one out that couldn’t eat and drink everywhere because everything was filled with gluten and lactose. This was when I really started to see the need for a new type of restaurant in Luxembourg and soon the concept of LeneLife was born!

Lene Pedersen, Owner & Managing Director of LeneLife

With its ethos ‘Happy Body & Mind’, LeneLife’s kitchen offers a new alternative for vegans, vegetarians, people with allergies, as well as people seeking a healthier lifestyle. A first in Luxembourg, LeneLife also combines gastronomy with nutrition and personal development consultations.

The idea of combining healthy, low-allergen food with nutrition and personal growth advice was brought to life by Lene Pedersen, owner and managing director of LeneLife, who previously had a career in marketing and communications:

“I was playing with concepts in alternative food styles and their impacts on our well-being, as well as the importance of intentional growth. When I was training for my half marathon in 2013, I intensified my focus on both and became more aware of the difficulties of living gluten and lactose free in Luxembourg”, Lene says and adds:

“I was the odd one out that couldn’t eat and drink everywhere because everything was filled with gluten and lactose. This was when I really started to see the need for a new type of restaurant in Luxembourg and soon the concept of LeneLife was born!”

LeneLife started offering coaching and training in nutrition and personal growth in November 2014. Together with chef Nicolai Nielsen, who completed his culinary training at 2-Michelin star restaurant Hibiscus in London, LeneLife has been serving lunch at Le Bec Fin since February, followed by deliveries through GroupLunch, which started in March.

Making a difference

LeneLife aims to make a difference in Luxembourg, through creating awareness of the benefits of healthy eating, offering a menu tailored to people with food allergies, as well supporting people to change their lifestyle:

“We do this by going into a dialogue with our customers and society to understand challenges and needs better, through providing healthy, allergen-reduced meals, by offering consulting, as well as advice and support in nutrition and personal growth for a long-term change, leading to a happier body and mind”, Lene says and adds:

“We want to show the variations of modern and interesting foods by changing our menu regularly introducing newer styles, such as raw food, juices, and LCHF.”

Consulting and advising is done with a customised approach - individually, in groups, workshops and seminars to fit each customer’s individual needs in the areas of nutrition and personal development. Consultations are offered in Danish, German, English, French, Spanish and Luxembourgish.

LeneLife serves lunch Monday to Friday at Le Bec Fin, and deliveries are made through GroupLunch. Future plans include offering a dinner menu at Le Bec Fin.
