  • BGL BNP Paribas Summer School

As it has done every year since 2012, BGL BNP Paribas’ lux future lab is offering 30 young people the opportunity to take part in the Summer School, a unique project that encourages them to think outside the box while forging two essential qualities: entrepreneurial sense and the search for excellence.

The Summer School is an integral part of the lux future lab, which aims to impact the economic and social dynamic of the country by placing the emphasis on training and entrepreneurship.

The fourth Summer School, held from 13 to 24 July 2015, is open to 16-to-18 year-old high school students in Luxembourg.

Over the two-week period, the students will meet with innovative entrepreneurs, committed organisations and experienced tradespeople – professionals that stand apart through their original approaches and a true passion for their work.

The aim is to give the young people involved the desire, at a decisive moment in their studies, to take their future into their own hands by opening up new perspectives and conveying to them the message, “Like what you do, and do it well!”.

In addition to the range of topics addressed, each day being structured around a specific subject, sports activities and games will be organised to encourage the participants to integrate and foster a sense of team work. Useful “good to know” tips will also be provided every day by specialists from the BNP Paribas group on practical subjects such as public speaking, self-defence and CV writing.

Designed in collaboration with some 50 players from the professional and academic world, the programme is also based on individual support from a guidance counsellor who helps the young people to fine tune their interests and skills with a view to their future studies and career.

The last main pillar of the Summer School is the “coding class”, included in the programme for the first time in 2014. In a series of workshops, the students will work as teams to succeed in an ambitious challenge, i.e. to create in just two weeks and with no special IT knowledge a blog, an app, a YouTube channel or a fund-raising website.

Online registration for the 2015 Summer School is open through 15 May 2015 on the lux future lab website, www.luxfuturelab.lu
