As a pioneer of roaming, which is included in all our Hello Europe plans, with the ambition to establish our 4G network as the reference for ultra high-speed mobile connectivity, Orange Luxembourg wishes to let its customers take advantage of 4G, even in roaming. Being part of a worldwide group greatly facilitates the extension of 4G roaming progressively and fast to all the countries equipped with this technology

Werner DeLaet, CEO of Orange Luxembourg SA

Starting 1st July, clients from Luxembourg may surf on the 4G networks in France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, Italy China as well as several other countries* disposing of 4G. At the same time, visitors from these countries may use Orange’s 4G network in Luxembourg. MyOrange’s data consumption control mechanisms, legal alerts and the European tariff regulations apply when using 4G abroad.

Orange’s 4G roaming partner agreements have been greatly facilitated through the Orange group. As of 1st July, Orange Luxembourg will be the first operator allowing its clients to use 4G technology during their stay in France, Belgium and Germany. Other European like Portugal as well as countries from around the world, will be added progressively to this list. Orange clients having subscribed to a tariff plan which includes 4G, will be able to surf in the European 4G networks following the conclusion of the different agreements. In return, Orange Luxembourg will give access to its 4G network to visitors from these countries, who will take advantage of Orange’s 4G experience in Luxembourg, Orange Luxembourg’s 4G network already covering 70% of the population.

Luxembourg being widely open to Europe, all the Hello Europe tariff plans already include roaming and customers take advantage of 4G roaming if their smartphones and SIM cards are compatible. On simple request, SIM cards can be exchanged for free in any of the 17 shops throughout the Grand-Duchy.

As before, Orange clients may follow and control their consumption via the MyOrange web application on their smartphones. The application allows customers to verify in real time if they are still within the limits of their package and the data connection for the app is free, in Luxembourg as well as in Europe. Should they wish to increase the roaming volume for their vacations, customers can activate Go Europe packages simply via SMS according to their needs and taking advantage of attractive tariffs (starting at 1€). These packages are available for prepaid and post-paid clients alike.

According to European rules effective 1st July, notifications mechanisms and the new tariffs apply when using 4G, particularly when reaching the 80% limit and the 50€ threshold.
“As a pioneer of roaming, which is included in all our Hello Europe plans, with the ambition to establish our 4G network as the reference for ultra high-speed mobile connectivity, Orange Luxembourg wishes to let its customers take advantage of 4G, even in roaming. Being part of a worldwide group greatly facilitates the extension of 4G roaming progressively and fast to all the countries equipped with this technology,” explains Werner DeLaet, CEO of Orange Luxembourg SA

* Depending on the availability with the different providers, the first countries offering 4G connectivity depending on their networks are the following: Germany, Canada, China, South Korea, Spain, Greece, Italy, Romania, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.
