Lux Airport: newly appointed General Director
After a selection process involving an international executive search firm, The Board of Directors of lux-airport is pleased to announce the nomination of Mr Johan Vanneste as the new CEO of the Airport.
The career of Mr Vanneste in aviation spans some 28 years in a variety of roles, initially including aircraft construction, aircraft handling and aircraft maintenance. During the past 18 years, Johan Vanneste was Managing Director or CEO of 3 different passenger airlines and COO of a major cargo airline. During these years he worked very closely with many European airports, including lux-airport. Furthermore, Mr Vanneste acted as an advisor for two regional airports and assisted an investment firm in an acquisition project of a third airport.
Johan Vanneste added: “I am very pleased to join lux-airport as its new CEO. I have known lux-airport since more than 10 years, having operated here with one of my previous airlines, VLM. Since the opening of its beautiful new terminal in 2008, lux-airport has grown quite fast, and I am looking forward to continuing that growth in the coming years. As an airline CEO, I think I know pretty well what passengers expect from an airport. Quality of service to the passengers will be one of my focal points. Lux-airport also is a very important European Air Cargo hub, and recent developments at Cargolux will only strengthen this position. This is an airport with quite some potential and I am looking forward to realise that potential together with all stakeholders at the airport.”
Mr Vanneste will start in his new role on Monday 27 January 2014.
