The 6th edition of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 celebrates the art of entrepreneurship in Luxembourg. The contest honors exceptional businesspeople who have significantly influenced the economy and innovation. Business leaders compose the independent judging panel, chaired by Michèle Detaille, President of FEDIL.

This year's winner is Marc Giorgetti, from Felix Giorgetti Group. Marc Giorgetti worked in the family business from a young age, gaining knowledge on building sites and operating construction machinery. Upon finishing his studies, he returned to Luxembourg to manage the company, which was struggling with a debt of £20 million and low funds. Thirty-seven (37) years later, the Felix Giorgetti Group is now a leading company in building and property development in Luxembourg. The company has also expanded into the Horesca sector and currently employs more than 1,300 individuals.

"There are many entrepreneurial success stories in Luxembourg, such as Marc Giorgetti's from Felix Giorgetti Group. Through this competition, we want to celebrate them, to highlight the stories of these people who have had the courage to take risks and who have succeeded in creating an entrepreneurial masterpiece," said Yves Even, Partner in charge of the Entrepreneur of the Year programme at EY Luxembourg.

In addition to the Entrepreneur Of the Year title, the jury has decided to award an additional prize in recognition of the career of François Tesch from the Foyer Group.

"After seven years without Entrepreneur of the Year, we felt it would be difficult to be satisfied with just one prize, so we unanimously decided to add an award in recognition of François Tesch's exceptional career," said Carole Muller, CEO of Fischer bakeries and President of the Luxembourg Confederation.

Marc Giorgetti, the winner, will have the honor of representing Luxembourg at the "World Entrepreneurs of The Year" global final and joining entrepreneurial communities. The "EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™" programme, operating in more than 60 countries for over 30 years, aims to reward and inspire entrepreneurs for their contribution to growth and competitiveness.
