Goodyear has been chosen as one of the main tire suppliers for the all-new Renault Captur, providing 215/55R18 95H EfficientGrip Performance tires. The Renault Captur is one of the best-selling small SUVs on the market, with 1.5 million units sold in more than 90 countries since its launch in 2013. The all-new Captur follows its original formula, which was a great success, but the car has now been updated with the latest technologies. The Captur has also received an upgrade on its wheels, with Renault opting this time for Goodyear tires. Goodyear’s EffficientGrip Performance tires add the perfect level of performance to make the Captur even better than before. As well as the 215/55R18 95H, Goodyear will also supply the 215/60R17 96H.

The 215/60R17 96H, is a class A for Fuel Efficiency and a class B for Wet Grip. As tires account for up to 20% of a vehicle’s fuel consumption, tires with a high fuel efficiency rating give more miles and lower CO2 emissions. Tires, just like tire pressure and the weight of the vehicle, all affect the fuel efficiency of tires or the energy required to roll – and thus the fuel necessary to propel it.

The 215/55R18 95H EfficientGrip Performance tire boasts class A for Wet Grip and class B for Fuel Efficiency. The best Wet Grip rating can make all the difference, as a passenger car applying full brakes from 80.5kmh on a wet surface brakes up to 18 meters shorter than a set with an F-rating. Tires with excellent wet grip offer more stable handling, too.

Goodyear hence proposes an outstanding combination of safety and fuel efficiency for its premium tires. The Goodyear tire performances reduce the braking distance of the vehicle on wet conditions and bring financial savings for the drivers who also limit the environmental impact. With the latter, Goodyear supports the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to achieve their limits for the CO2 emission requirements as well.
