30% of Luxembourg residents have experienced a raise in their savings in 2015!
According to the latest study of the ING International Survey (IIS), 40% of Luxembourg residents state that they are satisfied, if not very satisfied, with the amount in their savings account, against 34% the year before. At European level, the score reaches 26% and thus ranks Luxembourg second behind the Netherlands (43%) and before the United Kingdom (39%).
Additionally, the situation of Luxembourg residents has notably improved as a whole, as the number of those surveyed declaring to be without savings has dropped from 21% last year to 14% this year. In contrast, the European score (38%) has stayed the same as last year.
Furthermore, Luxembourg, as well as the United Kingdom, by the way, is one of the two surveyed countries where the percentage of residents whose savings have increased is highest (30%), compared to the European average of 19%.
In concrete terms, this means that more than four out of ten persons surveyed in the Grand Duchy (26.4%) state that they have more than 50,000 EUR on their savings account.
