ING News : Appointment of ING Luxembourg’s new COO, member of the Executive Committee
On 20 January, ING announced that Bernard Lhermitte, Chief Information Officer (CIO) & Head of IT would assist CEO Luc Verbeken in the role of Chief Operations Officer (COO) ad interim, following Koen Hermans’ departure to join ING Belgium, and this until the regulator’s approval of the new COO.
ING has now the pleasure to announce the appointment of Bernard Lhermitte as COO and member of the Executive Committee.
As COO, Bernard Lhermitte is now in charge of the operational departments of the Bank (Client Administration, Financial Markets Support, Loan Administration, Payments & Securities), of Operational Excellence and will continue to act as CIO heading the IT department.
For 25 years at ING Luxembourg, Bernard Lhermitte has held different positions of responsibility in OPS&IT, culminating in his appointment as Head of the IT department in 2008, and he has a profound knowledge of the Luxembourg market.
