Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen: 50 years of quality, experience and innovation
Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen, Luxembourg law firm, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. As a pioneer among business law firms it has contributed to the development of the Luxembourg financial centre. Today the firm counts over 260 members and has an office in Hong Kong
The creation of the firm dates back to September 1964 when Me André Elvinger and Me Jean Hoss established their partnership in Grand-Rue, Luxembourg City. It was the first partnership not to operate as a single family business which at the time was unique. With lawyers concentrating on corporate and tax law, the firm soon focused on clients of the financial sector and in particular investment funds. In 1974, Me Yves Prussen joined the partnership. After a period of steady growth, the firm moved to Côte d’Eich in Luxembourg in 1980. It wasn’t until 1997 that the firm moved to 2 Place Winston Churchill, which today remains its head office.
Within the last 10 years the firm’s workforce has more than doubled. Today there are 260 members, including 30 partners of 6 different nationalities, located in three different buildings around Place Winston Churchill. Focusing on a “hands-on” approach by its partners and continuous training and supervision of its associates, the firm has expanded while continuing to offer high quality advice in a human environment. At the request of its Asian clients the firm opened an office in Hong Kong in July 2012.
Elvinger, Hoss & Prussen has closely followed the development of the financial sector while maintaining its independence and defending its values: responsibility, commitment, excellence, innovation, solidarity and respect. These values have allowed the firm to prosper over the last 5 decades while meeting the expectations of its national and international clientele.
