A team of Cargolux employees was competing against eight other corporate teams in four different races: aquatic marathon, an endurance relay race, sprint swimming and water running.

The “Red Cross Afterwork Swimming” is a fundraising event; its proceeds go to the Red Cross Social Groceries project in Luxembourg. At these stores, families in need can buy essential food products for about one-third of the regular market price. The system allows them to cover their basic needs and ensures fresh and good quality products. Cooking lessons led by professional nutritionists and chefs are also offered, with fresh produce provided by the stores.

In addition to swimming for a good cause, Cargolux also donated €2,500 in cash towards the project.

With this edition of the fundraiser, the Luxembourg Red Cross?s International Section has raised 10,000€. The organization is planning a media event on 20 June at „Les Thermes? aquatic center to honor donors and participants.
