On 16 January, in the presence of Laurent Zahles, Chairman of the Management Board, and Jean-Louis Barbier, Georges Heinrich, Eric Peyer and Sandrine De Vuyst, Members of the Management Board, the Bank handed over its donations to various Luxembourgish charities in Leudelange. By confirming its values as a cooperative bank, Banque Raiffeisen is demonstrating its willingness to play an active role in the social and solidarity-based fabric of the country and its strong commitment to the charitable, social, and humanitarian sectors.

Donations will benefit six Luxembourgish charities

The Bank continues this tradition by donating a total of €30,000, with €5,000 going to each of the following organisations:

  • The Association nationale des Victimes de la Route asbl advocates for people affected by traffic accidents and their families and works to improve their quality of life.
  • Aide aux Enfants Handicapés et Défavorisés de Luxembourg contributes financially to the daily needs of mentally and physically handicapped children as well as disadvantaged children living in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, intending to make their lives more pleasant.
  • The Fondation Stëftung Hëllef Doheem provides high-quality personal assistance and care, promoting home care and autonomy while respecting their patients’ well-being.
  • Volunteers working at Omega 90 provide support to people facing a serious or terminal illness, to those nearing the end of their lives, to their loved ones and to grieving people.
  • The Christoffel Blannemissioun (Fondation CBM) association supports projects aimed at preventing or treating avoidable blindness and integrating people with a disability into society. Its current work targets three developing countries: Angola, Laos, and Madagascar.
  • The Luxembourg Paralympic Committee asbl (LPC) acts as the voice of disabled athletes and is committed to promoting the advancement of accessible sport in Luxembourg, covering the full range from leisure sports to high-level competitions. In particular, the LPC is responsible for nominating and financially supporting the participation of Luxembourg’s most talented athletes in major international events, including the Paralympic Games.

Local sponsorship as part of the DNA of the cooperative bank

The diversity of objectives pursued by the beneficiary associations perfectly illustrates Banque Raiffeisen’s desire to help people in distress. Although the aims of these associations are fundamentally different, they are all characterised by their dedication and commitment to offering help, advice, and support to those in need.
