The publication, which specialises in the world of finance and banking, has rewarded Banque de Luxembourg's expertise in the ‘Asset Management’, 'Succession Planning Advice and Trusts' and 'Philanthropy Advice’ categories.

In its annual Private Banking and Wealth Management Survey for 2017, Euromoney magazine selected Banque de Luxembourg for the following awards:

  • Best private bank for ‘Asset Management’
  • Best private bank for 'Succession Planning Advice and Trusts’
  • Best private bank for ‘Philanthropy Advice’

"These awards show appreciation for the way we approach our private banking profession. Every day, we do our utmost to offer our clients personalised advice and top quality services. We support them in growing and managing their wealth and planning the personal and financial aspects of their inheritance. Our Bank aims to be by their side at the important moments of their life and look after their wealth over the long term so it can help them realise their projects,” explains Luc Rodesch, Member of the Management Committee and Head of Private Banking at Banque de Luxembourg. “We would like to thank all our clients for their ongoing confidence in us over the years.”

Asset management
Banque de Luxembourg has built its reputation on the quality of its asset management. Our aim is to protect our clients’ capital and deliver consistent performance over time, as we have for over 20 years under the direction of Guy Wagner, our chief economist, and his teams, by rigorously applying simple principles:

  • We place our clients’ assets with top quality issuers and do not invest on our own account.
  • We select transparent financial instruments which we understand and we steer clear of transient fashion trends.
  • We only select high quality companies with solid fundamentals that have a competitive advantage and generate high profitability year after year.
  • We consider that the price paid determines the yield so we only invest in companies when their valuation is reasonable and we incorporate a safety margin to minimise the risk of losses. We apply the same philosophy when selecting external funds.
  • We always devote time to analysing the client’s portfolio in its entirety, evaluating the risks and determining the appropriate asset allocation for their investor profile, before advising on a specific investment.

The quality of our asset management is regularly recognised by the financial press and international rating agencies.

Succession planning advice and trusts
Our wealth engineering specialists have expert knowledge of Luxembourg and international law. They support wealthy clients and their families, helping them protect and preserve their wealth so that it can be passed on to future generations. When preparing for succession, we place a special focus on the intangible aspects of wealth: the values, vision, expertise and reputation that are often intrinsic to the success of a family or business.

Philanthropy advice
At Banque de Luxembourg, we have also developed unique expertise in the field of philanthropy. For over 10 years, we have been helping our clients define, structure and manage their philanthropy projects and providing NGOs and charitable associations with responsible management solutions.

Euromoney has been a key reference for the finance and banking community since 1969. This survey provides a qualitative review of the best services in private banking by region and areas of service.
