en

Thirty years ago, on November 9th, 1990, was officially created the Luxembourg Maritime Law. This creation resulted from a long way of work executed by several Luxembourg actors since the sector grew and offered a flag and services of quality.

To celebrate the anniversary, the Luxembourg Maritime Cluster organized with the support of the Maritime Affairs and its sponsors, its annual Gala des Armateurs last October. It was a particular event due to the current situation, but the cluster tried its best to make its guests enjoy this moment.

We were honored to receive Mr. Minister Franz Fayot, Minister of the Economy and Minister for the Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs. Mr. Fabrice Maire, Chairman of the CML, gave the opening speech about Luxembourg's maritime sector's current situation and highlighted the members' different initiatives. He was followed by Mr. Franz Fayot, who talked about future perspectives of the maritime sector, its integration within the economic diversification policy of the government and the ongoing efforts towards green shipping.

We also thank Mr. Carlo Semedo, Ambassador of Cabo Verde in Luxembourg, for aWending this event. And of
course, we have a particular thought for Mr. Marc Glodt, who worked for 20 years for the Luxembourg maritime
sector, he was Commissioner to the Maritime Affairs until 2008. We also thank Mr. Jeannot Krecké for his
involvement when it took office as Minister of the Economy in 2004. Our thoughts are also intended to Mr.
Freddy Bracke, who represented the shipowners and was the previous Chairman of the CML. Thanks in
particular to these people we owe the creation of the Luxembourg Maritime Cluster, who already has 12 years.

Our guests had the opportunity to discover more about the company CAE Aviation through a presentation given
by Mr. Laurent Aubigny, the company's general manager. He also presented the working group Maritime
Surveillance created by the cluster in 2017 that develops the project LUMARSS with 5 Luxembourg companies'
synergies.

The Maritime Affairs received a gift for 30 years of anniversary, a painting created by our Marketing Manager,
Ms. Axelle Salvage. This painting symbolized the Luxembourg Maritime Law and the memory of its creation: the
picture of a boat entering the city under the Grand Duchess CharloUe Bridge, welcomes by the lions, led by the
Gëll Fra, the water opens on both sides. In the foreground, we can see the red lion from the Luxembourg
maritime flag. We also thank OhCakes Winnie for the fantastic marine cake!

We realized our traditional fundraising and the amount collected would create puzzles with the painting photo
and donate them to the Kriibskrank Kanner Foundation that helps children with cancer.

Thank you to our gold sponsors: Intershipping, CldN Ro-Ro, Jan De Nul Group, Dredging International
Luxembourg.
Thank you to our silver sponsors: BCEE and Wildgen.
