Last week Stampfy welcomed Pierre-Yves Lanneau Saint Leger as Chief Operational Officer ad interim, and today the team is proud to announce the collaboration with Michael Pechner in a position of advisor.

Michael is an accomplished leader with management and executive experience in the financial services industry. The fast-moving world of Fintech startups he discovered by executing one of the leaders in mobile payments in the Luxembourg market. He had a successful career in corporate banking, having spent 20+ years working with, Citigroup, BNP Paribas Fortis and Barclays/ Barclaycard across London, Amsterdam, Zurich and Brussels.

Why have you joined Stampify?
Luxembourg is truly becoming the home of some innovative and serious startups, joining the ranks of “Start-up nations” while focusing on some specific areas such as Fintech and Regtech.

Regtechs in general, and Stampify in particular, are developing solutions to real problems. Stampify’s platform, the straightforward business model and the use of technology, will ensure it’s a success among Regtechs.

Finally, the team. Guillaume and I have crossed paths several times in the past, and I have gotten to know him and Bernard and appreciated their drive and vision for the company. The team is great and the growth plans are exciting. Joining this startup was a no-brainer.

What is your role in Stampify?
I have been invited to provide advisory support to the management team across multiple areas which I plan on doing to the best of my abilities. But to be honest, I see my role as a sparring partner for Guillaume and Bernard, to challenge them in their assumptions and to guide them where needed to get the best results for Stampify. My experiences will allow me to support Stampify with their Luxembourg and international growth plans and I strongly believe that Europe and potentially beyond provides a clear opportunity for growth.

The major challenges
Apart from the current COVID crisis, obviously, with less physical meetings, the challenges I see relate primarily to move Stampify from a start-up to a scale-up. The vision and opportunity are clear and solid execution will be the key.

Clearly, the competition will not be standing still, and we will need to ensure to get Stampify’s positioning exactly right. Finally, my personal challenge will be to ensure I continue to add value to this talented team.

Vision and values
Personally, my aim is to work with companies that are transparent and have a solid business case based on value creation. As mentioned, I see that Stampify is able to provide solutions, simple integrations and addresses the real problems prevalent across all companies. The ability to digitise validation, signatory and voting processes and workflows, will ensure improved governance and audit trails. I see Stampify as setting the standard and becoming an international norm. I enjoy working with intelligent people, open to challenges with an ability to act as a team.
