New Investment Funds Partner elected at Linklaters LLP Luxembourg
With effect from 1 May 2020, Martin Mager has been elected Partner in the latest round of Linklaters’ global partner elections.
Martin has a dual German and Luxembourg profile. He first worked in the Tax Practice of the Linklaters Munich office in 2009, having studied law at Bucerius Law School (Hamburg) and the University of Michigan Law School (Ann Arbor/Michigan). After a Secondment to New York and becoming Managing Associate in 2014, he integrated the Linklaters Luxembourg Investment Funds team in 2018.
Martin is also a lecturer at the University of Nuremberg.
Martin has extensive experience in all aspects of alternative investment funds. He advises leading asset managers and large financial services providers on a wide range of asset classes including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, debt and hedge funds. He is a recognised expert in the legal, regulatory and tax aspects of both Luxembourgish and German law.
Martin is mainly working with fund sponsors on the establishment and distribution of Luxembourgbased alternative investment funds, both in the regulated and unregulated sphere, and also on the structuring of segregated managed accounts and investment-type securitisation structures.
Martin has strong relationships with key clients and is the trusted adviser of major banks, fund sponsors and institutional investors.
