Medical booking platform Doctena takes over the health sector customer base of Terminland
Europe's market leader continues to grow
Doctena, Europe's leading platform for the online booking of doctors is again on a rapid growth path. The booking specialist and technology leader with headquarters in Luxembourg is taking over the health care customers of the German based provider, Terminland, as part of an asset deal. With the strategic acquisition of the medical segment of Terminland, which also offers online booking services for other industries, Doctena now offers access to the appointments of approximately 5,000 registered physicians and dentists in Germany and 7,000 physicians in Europe. The sale price was not disclosed by the contracting partners. Patrick Kersten, founder and CEO of Doctena: „Terminland is one of the leading cross-industry online appointment providers and has a high quality customer base. This deal is another milestone in our dual corporate strategy, which focuses on both organic and inorganic growth through acquisitions. In this way, we can further expand our European market leadership. Doctors and patients benefit from the growing importance of the efficiency of online booking."
The company, which was founded in Luxembourg in 2013, acquired the Belgian platform Docbook early last year and also took over the German portal Doxter. With the recent purchase, Doctena is now strongly positioned in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Hartwig Schulz, CEO of Terminland: „ Doctena is the number one for scheduling solutions in the medical segment. This is a clear win-win situation. We are contributing to the fact that Doctena can now provide the best offering of available physicians in Germany. At the same time, the deal gives us the opportunity to focus even more on core business in other industries. “
Leading online booking solution for the physician and the patient
The core idea of Doctena has been, since the launch about four years ago, to digitalize the appointment process for doctors. Dr Ron Lehnert, CEO of Doctena Germany: „ In times of smartphones and tablets, there is no reason to schedule a doctor's appointment by making a phone call - neither for the patient nor for the doctor. With our software solution, we simplify a process that traditionally takes a great deal of time for practitioners as well as for patients, and enrich it with added value services. At the end of the day, we help practices to drastically reduce telephone calls, implify planning, reduce appointment cancellations and incidentally broaden the patient base. "
Telephone booking will eventually disappear
Doctors get access to a medical cloud agenda for 99 EUR a month. In addition to real-time scheduling, patients benefit from practical services such as SMS calendar reminders, automatic calendar entries and much more. Dr Ron Lehnert explains: „ With 5,000 registered physicians, we have long crossed the critical mass and offer doctors and patients a service that will spread over the next three to five years across the market and completely replace the classic appointment booking.“ As next step, Doctena will further expand its sales teams in the individual markets it operates in and consistently expand the most user-friendly, fastest and most efficient platform in the market.
