Bonus miles for e-mobility: Voi presents the world's first e-scooter credit card

en

Credit card miles reward programmes are usually tied to air miles, which is not necessarily the most climate-friendly way to travel. The Swedish e-scooter rental company Voi is now offering an alternative: As the world's first micro mobility provider, the company today presented its own Mastercard credit card, issued by Advanzia Bank.

The integrated loyalty programme allows cardholders to collect miles with every payment, which can then be redeemed for free e-scooter rides. When receiving the card, an additional 6000 miles are credited, corresponding to six free rides. To round off the card's mobility concept, all cardholders also receive a comprehensive insurance package as well as other Mastercard Gold benefits.

"E-scooter rides instead of air miles – with the free Voi Mastercard Gold we want to convince more people of the advantages of sustainable mobility by offering them an alternative loyalty programme that offers great benefits", explains Claus Unterkircher, Vois General Manager for the DACH region. "We are very pleased to have found a strong partner in Advanzia Bank, as they support our vision and are a leading innovator when it comes to payment services."

The no-fee Voi Mastercard Gold

The credit card is issued by Advanzia Bank and offers both contactless and mobile payment. Customers of the Swedish mobility company can now apply for the no-fee Voi Mastercard Gold online and, after verification, will receive the card within a few working days. There are no annual or foreign currency fees for the card. Payments at the POS terminal are secured by PIN, and transactions via iPhone or Android mobile devices are protected both online and in-store via Face or Touch ID. A complete transaction overview is available online or in the credit card app at any time.

Johannes Neander, Chief Commercial Officer of Advanzia Bank: "We are pleased to be able to offer a flexible payment solution with the no-fee Voi Mastercard Gold, which perfectly fits the Voi mobility concept. We are also proud that we can contribute to the success of micromobility thanks to our strong product advantages and the resulting increase in customer loyalty".

Voi scores with individual pricing model

With the introduction of the Voi Mastercard Gold, the Swedish company Voi is also taking an additional step towards the diversification of its payment models. Voi is the only company to calculate the e-scooter fares based on an adaptive pricing system, which allows frequent drivers to permanently drive up to 40% cheaper. Alternatively, a  monthly flat rate subscription is also possible. The company has greatly increased its efficiency in recent months through the customised adaptation of its payment models and with the introduction of an e-scooter that no longer needs to be collected for charging. This enables Voi to continue to offer both the non-reduced basic prices as well as the flat rate subscription in line with prevalent industry standards.

The credit card can now be ordered at voi.cardnmore.com.
