Silversquare has been on the rise for 10 years and this is mainly thanks to the ambition of its founders Axel Kuborn and Alexandre Ponchon. «We created Silversquare in 2008, says Alexandre Ponchon. Flipping through the press one morning, Axel came across an article in the New York Times that mentioned writers who gather to write, find inspiration and drink a good coffee together. We were both creating an online sales project and did not have a fixed office or a professional space to settle. The article made us want to create a professional, flexible and full-service office solution that would meet our expectations. A year later, Silversquare Louise opened its doors.» Since then, Silversquare has been offering energising coworking spaces to support the growth of its 1000+ members.

From Brussels to Luxembourg

This June, Silversquare crossed the border and set up its vision of shared work in Luxembourg, in the heart of the  central train station district.

Fifth address of the Belgian group, the coworking space offers “ a new way to work “ on 2300m2 and 5 floors, ideally arranged. «Our members want to concentrate on activities which matter most to their business, so we offer them all the professional services from the world of business centers,» explains Claudine Bettendroffer Country Leader  Luxembourg.
“However Silversquare’s core is to provide stimulating environments in which the strength and dynamism of the  community allows entrepreneurs to think out of the box. The coworking provides an ideal setting for businesses to  focus on their core business and this is evident as the community of Silversquare Luxembourg keeps growing.
Today more than 50% of the space is leased and the rental distribution between private offices and open-space solutions is equally balanced.

A growing luxembourgish community

Today, 6 months after its official opening, Silversquare Luxembourg counts nearly 100 members. The community is composed of entrepreneurs and companies across all stages and operating across many different sectors.

By opening the doors of the coworking, you can meet a real estate agency, startups, scale-ups, authors, a media,  consulting companies (IT, finance, mindfulness), and the list is still long.

Benjamin Goux, Managing Director of Keyteo, heard about a new coworking space in Luxembourg, this is how he joined the coworking.

“It is the values of cohesion and benevolence brought by Silversquare that initially interested me. I also liked the idea of being able to participate in the development of an activity surrounded by people who can share it, starting with a morning coffee or a more formal meeting in the afternoon. “

For Charles-Louis Machuron, Founder and Editor of Silicon Luxembourg magazine: “ Silversquare is a very good place for entrepreneurship. Many events are organized, the Silversquare network is very important, its dual location is an advantage, and the combination of all allows to develop your activity.“
“ Benevolence, authenticity, flexibility, open mindedness, entrepreneurship, innovation and pleasure are the values of Silversquare; the engine of its growth and of its members, says Alexandre Ponchon. And if we have created these co-working spaces, it is above all to help entrepreneurs achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. “

For its 10 years anniversary, Silversquare takes on a new identity inspired by its members and their entrepreunarial spirit.

The center of the «link» logo represents the original concept of half-open, half-closed, interlocking coworkings. It also symbolizes the association of the two founders Alex and Axel. The «stripes» represent the six basic principles of Silversquare. These 6 principles are points of entry into the community: events, community, spaces, services, network, design. The first membrane symbolizes the protection and the bond that the community offers. The whole frame is surrounded by the promise of Silversquare «Rise from inside». The second membrane symbolizes co-immunity towards the outside.

Services to promote entrepreneurship

To support the ambition of its members, Silversquare offers several services. Every month many events are organized on various themes (Mobile App, House of Coins, Startup Grind, Silicon Luxembourg event ...). The first Mondays of each month are dedicated to the MeetUp Night, which allows inspiring associations and foundations to speak up on the coworking stage.

New services are also emerging as a result of feedback from some members and the investment of others. For example, last October was born the Co-Studio, powered by 360 ° Cross Media. Co-Studio is a photo and video studio hosted in the Silversquare Luxembourg premises and allows those who wish to rent it, to use it individually and autonomously after a short training. « This is a request I have had many times, reports Claudine. This type of studio did not exist on the market, it is an encounter which allowed to create it in our space. « To sum up, the community produces services for the community. Silversquare is also committed to entrepreneurship by approaching several Luxembourgish
business clubs, such as the Paperjam Business Club, the B19 and Maison Breedewee. It is important for the group to move forward, being strongly linked to the Luxembourg ecosystem.
The leaders of Silversquare intend to open between 2 and 4 new centers in Luxembourg by 2020, in order to create a very dense network from Luxembourg to the North of Belgium. Silversquare wants to become the pure coworking player within the next 5 years.
