ING News: 30% of Luxembourg residents say they would be willing to take recommendations from a "robo-adviser"!
According to the latest ING International Survey (IIS) on mobile banking, 44% of Luxembourg residents surveyed are willing to be assisted in one way or another by a robo-adviser.
What is a robo-adviser? A robo-adviser is a computer program that records a customer's preferences and invests the customer's money for them in the investments it thinks are best suited for that particular customer.
If we break down that 44%, we can see that 30% of Luxembourg residents (versus 29% throughout Europe) are willing to receive advice only, 12% (26% throughout Europe) are willing to accept the decisions of a robo-adviser but with final approval remaining at their discretion and 2% (3% throughout Europe) are willing to surrender full control of their financial activities to a robo-adviser.
Luxembourg residents are more hesitant on this issue: 56% of them are not interested in automated financial services, versus 48% for non-Luxembourgers.
As to whether Luxembourg residents would want their banking app to automatically transfer money from their savings account to their current account when they are in the red, 30% replied "yes", versus 34% throughout Europe, 41% in France, 31% in Belgium and 26% in Germany.
