Cargolux signs sponsorship agreement with Luxembourg’s National Museum of History and Art
Cargolux Airlines and Luxembourg’s National Museum of History and Art - Musée National d’Histoire et d’Art (MNHA) - have signed an agreement whereby the cargo airline supports the museum with transport of artworks. The agreement is valid for three years
The sponsorship agreement with MNHA marks the second of its kind in the Grand Duchy where Cargolux already sponsors transport of artworks for MUDAM, the Museum of Modern Art, since 2004. In both cases, the partnerships essentially provide support by doing what Cargolux knows best: flying cargo, in particular bulky and outsize consignments. Long distance transportation of valuable pieces of art is essential to enable exhibitions in the Grand Duchy originating from all over the world, as well as the other way round. Safe and efficient cargo transportation potentially adds up to a large part of the budget of exhibition projects, in particular if pieces of art need to be transported between continents.
“Cargolux is proud to able to play its part in the success of the MNHA,” says Richard Forson, Cargolux President & CEO. “We are happy that we can support the diversity of high profile exhibitions and the advancement of culture and history in Luxembourg.”
“I am very glad that the MNHA managed to conclude such an important partnership with such a renowned logistic company as Cargolux,” Michel Polfer, Director of Luxembourg’s National Museum of History and Art notes. ”This support is crucial for our international exhibition cooperation”.
Since its early days, Cargolux has sought to support and promote Luxembourg’s cultural activities. As an international airline operating worldwide, the company strives to enrich the cultural life of its home country and to support Luxembourg artists in their international exposure. This support is strongly anchored in Cargolux’s ambitions and the role it wants to play as a good citizen.
