ING NEWS: Success for the crowdfunding campaign launched by Tricentenaire following the ING Solidarity Awards!
At the last two editions of the ING Solidarity Awards, ING Luxembourg offered winners from the first editions of the project competition the opportunity to gain new resources via a new form of fundraising. In partnership with KissKissBankBank, a well-known online crowdfunding platform, the winners were able to make use of this financing alternative
After the Special Olympics, Tricentenaire, one of the winning associations of the ING Solidarity Awards 2015, decided to launch its own crowdfunding campaign on the KissKissBankBank platform.
This association has been supporting people with disabilities since 1978 and currently provides accommodation, day care, training, adapted travel and sheltered employment services in Luxembourg.
The aim of the campaign was to raise €3,462 to purchase the latest "Joëlette", an all-terrain one-wheeled chair that is operated with the help of at least two guides. This chair enables people with reduced mobility to negotiate narrow paths, when hiking in the mountains, or strolling through the forest for example. For four years now, this initiative has enabled volunteers from the Tricentenaire service « 321Vakanz » to work together with disabled people.
After mobilising generous donors for the Special Olympics a few months ago, Tricentenaire has repeated this success, reaching 118% of its goal on 25 November!
This additional funding will allow the organisation to assist "Team Joëlette" with the purchase of a Joëlette Twin kit (a two-wheel kit for running activities: €1,381) or accessories such as a carrying case or a selection of straps.
“In collaboration with our partner KissKissBankBank, ING Luxembourg has provided these associations with information about crowdfunding as a new fundraising tool. ING Luxembourg is proud to have contributed to developing their resources for taking action. And the results from the Tricentenaire campaign have encouraged us to continue on this path!” Stéphanie Deitz, CSR & Diversity Coordinator at ING Luxembourg.
