For its anniversary, the group organized a high quality Hackathon on the theme of security in banks. On the second day, a number of roundtables took place, animated by passionate and pragmatic experts around the topics of Digital Transformation and Innovation.

The Hackathon on banking security, organized in partnership with Société Générale, was the real highlight of the celebrations with some unexpected and fascinating results. Around 25 developers gathered at the Technoport Belval on Saturday for24 hours to test and prototype innovative ideas specifically aimed at the banking industry and its numerous challenges. The SGBT prize was given to the team BehAIve and the Sopra Steria prize to the team Trapbox.

Given the quality of the performances, Pascal Steichen (SECURITYMADEIN.LU and member of the jury), invited the winning teams to attend the international security conference Hack.lu. Sopra Steria also invited all participants to its business lab for a full week in order to finalize their projects and turn them into products.

On Monday November 14, a number of discussions, roundtables and presentations took place with the participation of experts from Sopra Steria and Axway. A number of key topics were tackled: Entreprise 3.0, Data Governance/PSD2, Fast IT, Artificial Intelligence with the robot Lucie Pepper, Direct Banking SaaS, cloud strategy in the banks and SAP, just to mention a few. A cocktail and walking dinner followed to close these three days.

“We are delighted to have been able to organize such an event with recognized experts and to have gathered as many expert developers around our first Hackathon. We are motivated to organize the next Hackaton in a year and the winning team is excited to return and face new teams. I would like to note the presence of Mrs Véronique de la Bachelerie, CEO SGBT ; Mrs Catherine Janot, Deputy CEO SGBT; Mr Nicolas Buck, President Fedil; Mr. Laurent Giovachini, Managing Director Sopra Steria and Mr. Guy Schmit, Director of the ‘Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse’. Equal opportunities for all is a subject that is important for us and we are convinced that the company plays a major role in the civil society and that it can contribute by its expertise to economic and social progress”, says Marianne Dutriez, CEO of Sopra Steria PSF Luxembourg.
