Guardian Glass Bascharage Plant
Guardian first entered Europe in 1981 with the float glass plant in Bascharage. Today its European business has 10 float glass plants across Europe and Russia and more than 4,000 employees.
The Bascharage plant was Guardian’s first float glass plant outside the United States. Since then the plant has grown considerably both in capacity and capabilities. In 1984 the plant added a tempered glass production line and an advanced magnetron sputter coater designed for production of reflective and low-emissivity coated products. In 1987 a second sputter coater was added to meet customers growing needs for high performance value-added glass.
