New CEO for ING Luxembourg as from 15 July 2016
ING Luxembourg announced today that Colette Dierick will become CEO of the Bank as from 15 July, succeeding Luc Verbeken in the role. Luc Verbeken will move to ING Belgium and take over the function of Head of Transformation Office for ING BeLux.
Colette Dierick
Colette Dierick is a true Orange Banker with nearly 32 years of experience within ING Belgium. She has held various positions in the Retail and Midcorps section as well as in Operations.
In January 2011, she was appointed to her current position leading Retail and Private Banking in ING Belgium within the Executive Committee of the Belgian entity.
Colette Dierick was one of the driving forces behind the transformation of the Belgian Retail bank into a more direct bank and she played a key role in transforming ING Belgium into an extremely personal and extremely digital bank, creating a differentiating customer experience for its clients.
As a member of the Board of Directors of ING Luxembourg since 2010, she knows the Luxembourgish Bank very well, as well as the Luxembourg financial center and the context in which it evolves.
“Colette is a well-rounded leader with many years of experience in the sector and a clear vision for the future. I am confident that she will continue to support our Think Forward strategy in this rapidly changing world” stresses Rik Vandenberghe, CEO ING BeLux.
Colette Dierick will take over the reins of ING Luxembourg officially on 15 July 2016, and her appointment is subject to final approval by the regulator (ECB and CSSF). Her successor in ING Belgium will be communicated in due time.
Luc Verbeken
CEO of ING Luxembourg since March 2013, Luc Verbeken had worked before in a variety of positions in Retail Banking and Commercial Banking in Belgium, Spain, the US and the Netherlands. Before joining ING Luxembourg, he was Head of Project Management Office of ING Bank in Amsterdam, reporting directly to ING Bank’s Vice-Chairman, Koos Timmermans.
As of 15 July 2016, Luc Verbeken will join ING Belgium and become Head of Transformation Office for ING BeLux. In his new role, he will be in charge of accelerating ING Belgium’s journey from strategy to execution in the current fast-changing environment.
Luc Verbeken will continue to report to Rik Vandenberghe and will be a standing invitee to the Executive Committee of ING Belgium.
