MNKS is very pleased to announce the arrival of Jean-François Trapp and Charles Roemers, the two co-founders of the law firm RTP, both recognised as experts in the real estate industry. They are joining on 1 February 2016 with a dedicated team composed of 3 members: Manuela Dias Marques, Iwona Pawelec and Maria Gueler.

The main subject areas covered by the real estate department will be transactions in foreign and Luxembourg real estate assets, property and construction law and administrative and environmental law.

Jean-François Trapp has strong expertise and regularly advises on all aspects of real estate investment projects on which he has been focusing over the past decade, including corporate, finance and contractual issues. He also regularly structures shariah compliant investments. Jean-François started his professional career by working as a tax consultant with PWC. He continued his professional development as a lawyer in the Banking and Corporate Department of Clifford Chance. Before founding RTP, Jean-François was also a partner in Oostvogels Pfister Roemers. Jean-François is fluent in French and English.

Charles Roemers’ significant expertise allows him to advise on all aspects of real estate investment projects. Moreover, he has also extensive experience in tax matters with a focus on corporate and international taxation for institutional and corporate investors as well as for private equity clients. Charles began his professional career by working for seven years as a consultant in the tax field in Belgium following which he then worked for a number of years as a tax lawyer with PWC Luxembourg. Before founding RTP, Charles was a partner in Clifford Chance and in Oostvogels Pfister Roemers. Charles is fluent in French, English and German.

The arrival of this team is promising as the expected growth, of both the Luxembourgish and international real estate sector will provide great opportunities.

The focus on the real estate sector is in line with the strategy of MNKS to strongly position itself as a full service business partner as well as in line with its sectoral services approach, which allows MNKS to bring added-value to our clients.
