ING NEWS : A Luxembourg artist is the winner of the ING Unseen Talent Award!
ING and Unseen are proud to announce Sophie Jung as the winner of the inaugural edition of the ING Unseen Talent Award, an international platform for the new Benelux photography talents to present their work.
The Jury believes that the work of Sophie Jung challenges our understanding of what photography is becoming. It reminds us of the analogue period of photography and at the same time, by adding media like sound and drawing, it opens up photography’s potentials to work differently on our minds and on our sense of being.
Sophie receives a project production fund of 10.000 EUR.
Supporting young talent is important to ING. The aim of the ING Unseen Talent Award is to give artistic talents the opportunity to raise themselves to a higher plane ; it is more than just financial assistance. It gives young artists what they really need : a platform, a network and expertise.
In May 2016 the 5 works by the finalists will be exhibited in Neimënster and as the winner of the ING Unseen Talent Award, Sophie Jung will have her own exhibition in a dedicated area for several weeks.
