CFL multimodal opens a new combined train route from Bettembourg to Lyon
Since 28 June, CFL multimodal is operating a new combined train route between Bettembourg and Lyon.
A new relation between the intermodal terminal of Bettembourg and the PEH terminal of Lyon was launched by CFL multimodal on 28 June. In a first phase, the trains will run three times per week and are open to containers, swap bodies and cranable semi-trailers.
The train frequency is supposed to be increased to six trains per week in the last trimester of 2014. CFL multimodal already operates regular combined trains to Antwerp, Lübeck, Trieste and Le Boulou, and will start up a train to Duisburg during the summer.
Thanks to the new line Lyon – Bettembourg, the company will be able to cover the main industrial regions between Sweden, the German Ruhr and the industrial basin of the Rhône-Alpes.
