I would like to thank all those who were involved in the Project 5 challenge: our staff at KPMG, the initiators DS Sports team, Paulo Gonçalves, his family and friends, the various supporters and contributors who have contributed to this adventure; also internally I know that people were heavily involved in making the project work. We hope that the funds raised on this occasion will benefit the 5 associations

Georges Bock, KPMG Managing Partner

Project 5 is a sports and charity initiative set up by DS Sports for its 5-year jubilee. It supports 5 selected associations (Croix-Rouge - Elisabeth Stëftung - Foyer Eisleker Heem - Special Olympics - Alan Asbl), and raises amounts for each association. The fundraising events themselves are carried out by athletes and normal people in Luxembourg, who set themselves challenges for which they have to find sponsors or donors.

“KPMG meets Project5”
Back in February 2013, KPMG teamed up with Paulo Gonçalves, one of Luxembourg’s most renowned athletes and motivated its staff to   participate in the project. We had some 30 challengers who set up their own challenges: a total of 25 challenges were programmed, amongst which: Postlaf; Zumbathon Arlon; Foyer Nordstad-semi (10km); DKV Urban Trail (13km, 27 km, team run); Walfer Huesen & Bëschlaf running and walking (12.2km); Berdorfer Laf (10km); Ergo Nighttrail (27km); City Jogging (10km); Triathlon Echternacht (Team); SwissAlpine K42 Davos (CH); Escher Kulturlaf (11 - 16 km); Escher Kulturlaf Walking (10 km); Luxembourg IronMan 70.3; Transardennaise St-Hub. - Nassogne. (3ième étape); Color Run; Trail des Hautes Fagnes 38km (Bel); BIL Route du Vin (21km); Aischdall Trail (Eischen); Foyer Vollekslaf Walfer (12km); Haard Trail Dudelange (13.8km); AWB Ultramarathon Köln (63km); Strongmanrun Luxembourg (24km);  Deulux Lauf (10km); Trail Uewersauer W&NW (36km); Corsica GR20 - North Track (120km); Großer Galtenberg Rundtour (16.5);  Powerman Holland; Ironman Mallorca; ING Luxembourg; Bike Rambrouch - Fafiao (Portugal); Powerman Weyer
All challenges put together, we ran, walked, swam and bicycled around 11.000km.

“KPMG meets Project5” raises €11,111 for Project5
Not only did our challengers put all their physical and mental strengths into those challenges, but they helped raise € 11,111 for Project5.

“Project 5 is a tremendous project; imagine taking up sports challenges for a good cause. We had some 30 motivated staff that jumped into the project as soon as we launched the initiative internally. Our athletes were supported by their families, friends and colleagues. They even created a video in our premises! This really creates team spirit!! We can be proud of our staff, not only are they professional workers but they also reflect the famous expression: not only food for the mind but food for the soul is essential to achieve a balanced life. And this is what we at KPMG care for!” says Jane Wilkinson, head of CSR at KPMG and director of the KPMG Luxembourg Foundation.

“I would like to thank all those who were involved in the Project 5 challenge: our staff at KPMG, the initiators DS Sports team, Paulo Gonçalves, his family and friends, the various supporters and contributors who have contributed to this adventure; also internally I know that people were heavily involved in making the project work. We hope that the funds raised on this occasion will benefit the 5 associations” adds Managing Partner Georges Bock.
